How much does a custom epoxy river table cost?
Every price we charge, published up front. Updated October 2026.
A custom epoxy river table from Strongs Woodworking costs between $200 and $8,000 CAD before tax, depending on two things: the size of the top and the style of the pour. A standard 36″ × 72″ dining table is $3,600 with a simple coloured river or $4,500 with a themed design. Below is the full price list, what each tier includes, and how our prices compare with the wider Canadian market.

Simple vs. themed: what’s the difference?
A simple pour is a single river of coloured or clear epoxy between two live edge slabs. You pick the colour and transparency; the river follows the natural edges of the wood. A themed pour is a designed scene built up in layers: an ocean shoreline with white-capped waves, a glacier, a night sky, embedded stone or a two-tone blend. Themed tables take more pouring stages and more hand work, which is why they cost roughly 15–25% more.
What’s included in the price
- Hand-selected live edge hardwood slabs sourced in the Ottawa Valley region (walnut, maple, ash, elm and others)
- Colour matching, multi-layer epoxy pours and a full cure between layers
- CNC flattening to a 0.001″ tolerance so the top is dead flat
- Multi-stage sanding and a hand-applied, food-safe finish
- Progress photos during the build
Table legs or bases, delivery and installation are quoted separately based on your choice and location; ask about this when you submit your project request.
Why do river tables cost what they do?
Three things drive the price of any epoxy river table: the slabs, the resin and the labour. A matched pair of dry, stable live edge hardwood slabs wide enough for a dining table is the single biggest material cost. Deep-pour epoxy is expensive and a dining table can use several litres. Then each pour must cure before the next layer, and the finished top has to be flattened, sanded through many grits and polished by hand. Published Canadian prices for comparable custom river dining tables typically run from about $3,000 to well over $10,000; Strongs Woodworking sits in the middle of that range because we source slabs locally and own our CNC rather than outsourcing flattening.
